Another example of the current crop of Birmingham bands showing us how it's done.

Strung Out In Hell

9 tracks of the best fuzz in Birmingham. Margarita Witch Cult burst on to our radar back in 2023 with their self titled debut album which gained them some impressive support slots with the likes of Cancer Bats, Monster Magnet and Nebula as they found themselves tearing it up across the UK and Europe. This album marks a mighty return to our sonic airwaves with a bluesy, groovy, dancy, evil album that's packed full of fuzzy riffs, eerie vocals and a locked in rhythm section. The tracklist includes 8 original ragers and also 1 monster cover of White Wedding (originally by Billy Idol), overall leading to one of the strongest modern stoner, doom, psych albums I’ve heard. 1. Crawl Home To Your Coffin 2. Scream Bloody Murder 3. Conqueror Worm 4. Witches Candle 5. White Wedding (Billy Idol cover) 6. Mars Rover 7. Dig Your Way Out 8. The Fool 9. Who Put Bella In The Wych Elm Listening to this album, you kind of feel like you are in the room as they play it. The raw wall of noise and dry drums immerse you and feel like a production from a bygone era. Of course, there is an unavoidable comparison to their hometown heros and inventors of the sound, Black Sabbath, but these guys are just able to add that little bit more bite and fire to it. I highly recommend checking this out. Rating: 4/5
