Coilguns - Nightshifter

Droning guitars and an angsty atmosphere encompass the soundscape on this latest track by Coilguns. Living in the same vein as other noise rock bands such as Birds In Row and Pile, Coilguns are a band who have been releasing a steady stream of aura drenched tracks for a good few years now.

This is a sad song, plain and simple. It’s not as relentlessly angsty as other songs by this band, but more of an emotional release. It’s a cathartic journey of hopeless acceptance, feeling lost in yourself.

The production is also just what this track needed. It’s intimate and rough which allows the pure emotions of the track to encompass you.

Hopefully there will be more music like this in the future as there seems to be a bright future ahead for them. Rating: 4/5
