There are very few bands out there who are producing as exciting music in 2025 as Family Man. Overload is the third single from their upcoming album, due for release later this year and it shows every facet of their sound in a powerful statement of a release.
The track kicks off instantly with piercing abrasive stabs of dissonant tones and gruff vocals. Now it depends how you feel about them, but a friend described these guys as “Idles, if the songwriting was better” and I see what he means, except with heavier instruments too!
The vocals are undeniably reminiscent of the coarse voice of Joe Talbot but the instruments are working as one to create this monstrous sound that’s wholly unique. We have clean melodic choruses in this song which isn’t something I can say I often associate with their tracks but it shows another skill in their repertoire and truly highlights them as a band to pay attention to.
I only discovered Family Man when I heard the first single from this album cycle ‘Company Of Portraits’ back in May and I’ve had high hopes for them ever since. So far, they’ve not disappointment in the slightest. Keep an eye on these guys!
